Why does the bible mean at Psalm 37:29 that "the righteous will posses the earth and live forever on it".?

The Bible often uses the term “earth” in a figurative sense. For example, Genesis 11:1 says: “Now all the earth continued to be of one language.” Here, the word “earth” refers to mankind in general, or human society. ( 1 Kings 2:1, 2; 1 Chronicles 16:31.) The context of 2 Peter 3:5, 6 implies the same figurative use of “earth.” It refers to Noah’s day when a wicked human society was destroyed in the Flood but Noah and his household as well as the globe itself were preserved. (Genesis 9:11) Likewise, at 2 Peter 3:7, it says that the ones to be destroyed are “ungodly men.” This view agrees with the rest of the Bible. The wicked society earmarked for desolation is also “the former earth” referred to at REVELATION 21:1, quoted earlier.
Just as a caring earthly father will take every measure possible to ensure the inviolability of his home, God is keenly concerned about his creation. He once evicted an immoral and wicked people from the fertile Jordan Valley and assured the new caretakers of the land, who were in a covenant with him, that if they kept his statutes, ‘the land would not vomit them out for their defiling it the same way as it would certainly vomit the nations out who were before them.’—Leviticus 18:24-28.
Today, a society that is sexually depraved, violently brutal, and politically corrupt has polluted the earth. Only God can rescue it. He will do just that. At Revelation 11:18, he promises “to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” The restored and renewed earth will be populated by people who fear God and sincerely love their fellowmen. (Hebrews 2:5; compare Luke 10:25-28.) The changes that take place under God’s heavenly Kingdom will be so profound that the Bible speaks of “a new earth”—a new human society.
When we read scriptures like Psalm 37:29 and we comprehend the statement by Christ at Matthew 6:10, we are convinced that neither blind natural forces nor man with all his destructive power will bring an end to our planet. They will not thwart God’s purpose. (Psalm 119:90; Isaiah 40:15, 26) Faithful mankind will live on earth amid conditions of boundless beauty and endless joy. That is the truth about earth’s destiny, this is and always has been the purpose of mankind’s loving Creator.—Genesis 2:7-9, 15; Revelation 21:1-5.

It means exactly that. After Jehovah cleans the Earth of wicked, disobedient mankind, then the righteous..or those obedient to Jehovah's commands and standards will have possession of the earth and restore it to the Paradise that it once was...and they will grow to perfection during Christ's 1000 year reign.
Then the final test, when Satan is let loose for a "little while" to try and mislead "perfect man" to turn against God.
Sadly, the Bible tells us that many will fall prey to Satan's lies once again; however, for the remaining ones who stand steadfast and true....they will "live forever upon the earth" as brought out in Psalms 37:29
You can be a part of that "great crowd" too. Request a Bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses, they will be happy to answer all of your questions from the Bible.

Means that there will never big a big boom thing that will destroy the earth. God's purpose for the earth (as noted in Genesis) was to have man inhabit it forever. Adam and Eve messed that up and got us in the mess we are in now - but Psalms (and many many other texts) remind us that there will be a time when God brings the earth back to it's former glory and that the righteous ones will then live on a Paradise forever - of course it doesn't mention the unrighteous because if you still had evil running round we would never have a paradise.

The Bible teaches that the righteous will live in Paradise. But who is righteous in God’s eyes?
Not the person who engages in the rituals of his religion while ignoring God’s will.
The Bible says: “Does Jehovah have as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Look! To obey is better than a sacrifice.” 1 Samuel 15:22
Simply put, “the righteous” who will live forever in Paradise are the ones who obey God’s commands as outlined in the Bible.
By the end of Judgment Day, surviving humans will have come to life fully as perfect humans. Revelation 20:5
Judgment Day will thus see the restoration of mankind to its original perfect state.
Then a final test will take place. Satan will be released from his imprisonment and allowed to try to mislead mankind one last time.
Those who resist him will enjoy the complete fulfillment of the Bible’s promise: The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it. Psalm 37:29

Personally I think someone made this planet habitable. I think he meant for people to live on it forever. I also think he would not let what the first two people do stop his plans. Viewing this planet and knowing the research involved in making Mars habitable I came to realize this had to be done with powers humans do not have. The steps necessary are strangely what the bible says in Genesis. So I feel it was inspired by someone.
I think eventually people will live on earth forever and I think who ever made this planet habitable will destroy the wicked.

The fact of the matter it is talking about the new heaven and the new earth that God Jesus Christ will create after God destroys this earth, by fire, the second death where the heaven and the earth shall be burned up, by the hell fires.
