This would include, the military, public roads & highways, Social Security, Medicare. Medicate, library's, judges, public defense attorneys,

federal, state, & local parks, police force, of all branches, FBI CIA ATF to federal state, & local law enforcement... Then of course, we can't forget to pay or politicians... The list goes on & on...

By the far rights convoluted definition of socialism? No.

    In reality? Yes.

The US has long been a blend of capitalistic and socialistic policies and actions.

If I concurred we would both be wrong. Socialism is government control of the means of production of wealth. What you cite are examples of how government consumes the wealth produced by others and taken from them through taxation.

Only if its being collected by the Central government. Thats why most of your list falls under amendment 10.

Why do libs have such a hard time understanding a simple phrase like that?

Yes, and most of our favorite things are Socialistic.

Football, baseball, basketball, hockey...all team sports and all attract more spectators than individual sports like golf or bowling.

The military is Socialistic. Individuals do receive recognition, but all the training goes into making each person less of an individual and more a part of the team.

Nope sorry these things all actually listed for "government shall do" in the Constitution; socialism is not by agreement with the people but despite what they want.

Hey. If it'll make you think you've got a point in the "win" column, sure.

That still doesn't change the fact that we would draw the line somewhere and you would not agree with that line. You do understand that, right?

Umm...no. By your definition of Socialism and the roll of government, there would only be Socialism or Anarchy in the world.

Heard it described as democratic socialism

Each one of those is a constitutionally mandated function of the federal government.

No, but then again, I do not term all collective enterprise as "socialism"...
