Not much action with Uniden Mobile Patrol 1 Scanner?
My dad purchased a Uniden Mobile Patrol 1 scanner however its hardly picking up anything. Every now and then he will hear something, but with it scanning our city and surrounding cities it just seems like it should be talking way more than it does. Can someone tell me what the problem could be? Thanks

If there's nothing to receive, you won't hear anything.
Maybe you aren't monitoring the best frequencies.
I strongly recommend listening for amateur radio signals
on 2 meters (144 to 148 MHz) and 70 cm (420 to 450 MHz).
Consult RadioReference.com for info on public service frequencies used in your area.
