Why is it when my internet is not working and I call the recorded message tells me to go online for solutions?

Yesterday my internet quit working so I called customer service for help. While waiting on hold they kept telling me to check online for solutions. How am I suppose to do that, my internet is down.

It's a prerecorded message. No matter what kind of issue you have, it will tell you to look online at their website. This is in hopes of reducing the amount of calls they receive, and thus save money. Just ignore it and wait until you get a live representative you can actually talk to.
