Handguns are not offensive tools. Even for members of the military, a sidearm is a last ditch effort to save your can when you're out of rifle ammo or don't have time to reload.
The best offensive weapon depends on the needs of the mission. You don't pick up a hammer to cut down a tree.

Handguns are intended to be personal defense weapons. Handguns are inherently not offensive weapons, particularly in the world of SMGs and Assault Rifles.
