The overwhelming and vast majority of those who presently profess faith in any of the humanly created faiths present in the world at this moment do so because they were indoctrinated into the same said beliefs as a child.
In the West, where education and personal investigation was once promoted along with the employment of reason and a systematic, methodical manner of self correcting research, faith practice has diminished.
In the Third World, wherein poverty often does not allow for formal education so that ignorance, fear and superstition abound, faith is a as strong as ever.
