It sounds like basic wear and tear. However while radiologists are very good at what they do, and they sure know how to read a scan to perfection. Their interpretation while very important can mean something or nothing. Radiologists make a lot of diagnoses, but they also make a lack of diagnoses, in that their interpretation can mean virtually nothing is wrong in a clinical context. A negative radiology study can narrow it down for your primary physician. Almost all physicians rely on pathologists and radiologists to rule out or diagnose various conditions in an objective and non-clinical setting. It is completely necessary, however some of the findings can mean different things when it is brought to the attention of a primary physician.

Pretty much normal wear and tear. If you think disability will change any of the MRI findings, you are in for a big surprise.

Get to work and support yourself for the next 45+ years instead of reaching for welfare.

Basically it is wear and tear of the spine and usually in the over 60s and unlikley you will get any disability for it if you are still able to stand. I have arthritis of hands and knees and now probably hips but U cant get any disability payment and have to work but doctor gives me pankillers, I am also type 2 diabetic with underactive thyroid. My next hospital appointment to see specialist is next thursday, Good Luck

Here's the proper explanation: you're an idiot for reading this without your doctor there to tell you what it means to you.

That radiologist's interpretation could mean absolutely nothing, or it could be important. Only your treating doctor can tell you that. It's a mistake to think either the images or the radiologist's interpretation are objective. They MUST be taken in clinical context, and only your treating physician can do that.

Sound like you have only mild degenerative disease of the cervical spine... don't know if you'll get the disability. May need other testing if you still have the symptoms... brain scan, maybe EMGs to figure out what's causing your symptoms.

It means that you should see a rheumatologist.
