The movie 'Aiki' which is a film about a martial artist in a wheelchair. The film is from Japan and was released in 2002. It is loosely based on the life of a Danish practitioner of the Roppokai branch of Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu, Ole Kingston Jensen, who started training in Daitō-ryū after he was handicapped in an accident and now is the highest ranking non-Japanese member of the Roppokai.

Keiko Fukuda also is inspiring. Keiko Fukuda (Japan/United States, 1913–2013), USA Judo and USJF 10th dan (promoted in 2011), Kōdōkan 9th dan. She was part of a group of three women, including also Masako Noritomi, who were the first to be promoted to 6th dan after a glass ceiling prior to 1972 apparently held back women from being awarded promotions above 5th dan. Fukuda also was the first, and so far only woman, to be promoted to 9th dan by the Kōdōkan and the 32nd or 33rd person in the world ever to be promoted to the rank of 10th dan in judo.

How have these inspired me? Don't let others tell you what your ability or disability is and never ever give up. You are in charge of your life and don't let anybody tell you differently.
