Virginia~ A lovely, old fashioned place name. I like Ginny as a nickname as opposed to Virgie but I know several older ladies with each nick name.
Georgia~ Also a great, old fashioned name. I like it slightly less than Virginia. Georgie is cute.
Paris~ Not a fan of this being used as a name for a human. Paris Hilton killed it for me.
Dakota is cute. i like it a lot. While I prefer it for a girl I don't mind it for a boy.
Austin is awesome! If any of my 3 granddaughters had been a boy they would have been Austin.
Dallas is only okay to me. I prefer it for a boy but I know of several girls or women with the name.
Asia~ i really dislike using this as a name for a human. If used, I prefer it for a girl.
Carolina isn't awful but Caroline is so much prettier.
There are tons of "place" names I like. I have a notebook with well over 100 written down just from places in the state where I live. Since many places are named after people I find them to be great names. A few of my favorites are Sydney (my name), Adrian, Bronson, Charlotte, Eloise, Kent, Marshall, Orion, Reese, Sawyer, Shelby, and Troy.
There are certain so called place names I find harsh and unflattering. Indiana (except for Jones), Alaska, Aspen, Phoenix, and London to name a few.

I like Virginia and Georgia. I have a cousin named Virginia, but she goes by Ginny. I don't care for Paris
Dakota I prefer on a boy. I like Austin, but not Dallas or Asia. Carolina is very nice.
I would suggest Aberdeen for a girl. Aberdeen is a city in Scotland. You can use the nickname Deenie for Aberdeen.

I personally don't like Virginia, Georgia, or Carolina. Just not my style. I have an aunt Virginia and I know a little girl named Georgia. I consider all 3 girl names.
Paris might be okay, but only for a girl.. Maybe a 6 out of 10
I think Dakota is a unisex name. I went to school with a guy named Dakota and I have a friend's who named her daughter middle name Dakota. It's probably a 8 out of 10 for me.
Austin is definitely a boy name. But for me it's a 4 out of 10.
Dallas is unisex to me. My nephew is named Dallas but I know girls with the name to.
Asia is cute. Only for a girl. Maybe a 7 out of 10.
Others you didn't mention..
Alaska. 7 out of 10, girl
Phoenix. 10 out of 10, unisex. Prefer it as a girl
I don't know if you consider planet names as place names but if so, I'm lately attracted to the name Neptune. For a girl. 9.5 out of 10.

Girls: Virginia, Georgia, Paris, Dakota, Dallas, Asia, Carolina (I don't like Asia as a name)
Boys: Austin
I'd also put London in the girls category

Depends on the name itself
♀ Virginia: very lovely
♀ Georgia: lovely
♀ Paris: do not care for
♀♂ Dakota: love it!
♂ Austin: love!
♂ Dallas: love!
♀ Asia: never cared for
♀ Carolina: don't care for. Much prefer Caroline

I do not like many commonly used place names like Paris or London, they just sound pretentious to me. I do really like Virginia and Georgia and Carolina. I like Denver, Austin, Utah, Alabama, Tennessee, and Sydney.
