Why are many poor people obese?

processed foods are cheaper and more convenient for people with minimal finances. Also, a lot of the times poor people are not just financially poor but (not judging) also intellectually poor. They really just don't know the the magnitude and continuity of nutrition.

A McDonalds burger costs 99 cents. Most fruits cost 1.99 a pound and taste much worse.

carbs and fats are cheaper than animal protein

20 lbs of rice costs less than 1 lb of loin steak

Because they eat poorer quality food which is usually less healthy

Because, among other things, they cannot afford a proper diet nor adequate health care.

Their EBTs allow the purchase of all the Little Debbie's, Doritos and Pepsi they want.
