Use former external drive as internal.?

I have a 2 tb external drive that has all my music and photos on it. The USB part of it is now dead. No light comes on and no access to hard drive. I removed it from the enclosure thinking that I could just connect it to the internal SATA connection inside my PC. Now anytime the former external drive is connected the PC refuses to boot up and acts like there is no drive connected.

    Hi there mikeyg,

Make sure that both SATA and power cables are properly connected. You can try using different SATA port as well.

In case the issue persists, then I guess there is something wrong with the HDD as well. In that case, you will need to contact a data recovery company in case the data stored on it is really important.

Ok, take the drive somewhere and see if it is broken.

It may be your SATA cable, it may be the SATA connector on your motherboard, or it might be the settings on your Motherboard, or it might be the drive itself.

This sounds as though the drive is also dead as well.
