Can I purchase and drive a vehicle in Arizona with a Florida driver license?

Or do I need to get an Arizona driver license to be able to do so? I still do not know if I want to stay in the Phoenix area or move on to California. My FL license is about a year and a half old. Thanks.

BTW I do not currently own a vehicle here in Phoenix. Doing the Light Rail/bus thing for now but it's a pain. So I would be starting from square one.

IF you are no longer a resident of Florida, then your Florida drivers license is no good. If you have been living in Arizona for more than 30 days, the state REQUIRES you to transfer your drivers license to Arizona. AND if you decide to move on to California, the same thing applies there.

You can BUY a car pretty much anywhere you can find one that you can afford to pay for. You don't NEED any sort of driver's license to BUY a car, BUT your insurance company will probably require you to have a valid license before they will insure the car.

If you have established residence, you need to trade in your license for an AZ license, which will enable you to buy, and register in AZ, otherwise, you'd need to return to FL soon, to register the car. If your buy from a private seller, it would be even more difficult, since you could not legally drive it, until after you had transferred the title, in FL. Buy from a dealer, and you'd have 30 days, until the TEMP registration and tags expire to return and get permanent plates.
