When molecules condense, the energy of the system is decreasing - this means that the gaseous molecules being to slow down (less kinetic energy) which means the intermolecular bonds between molecules start to reform. When evaporation occurs, excess kinetic energy is inputted into the system - this results in the breaking of old imf bonds, which in-turn results in excited lone molecules being 'freed' from solution / solid.
