I had a dream about the end of the world?

I don't usually impose my opinion in the Dream Interpretation forum unless you have no other decent answers after seven or eight hours, or have only been tapped by the religious predators (including the intellectually-dishonest one who always upvotes her own answer) or the annoying website point gaming spammers; then I might chime in.

I believe that most dreams don't mean anything at all, and are just incoherent ramblings of the sleeping brain. Sometimes dreams are the subconscious trying to make the conscious mind notice something it's ignoring in waking life, and other dreams have psychological interpretations that are as obvious to the dreamer as to us. I don't believe there is any universal key to dream meaning, though in the Dream Interpretation forum there will of course be many others who disagree with that--I think meanings are personal to the dreamer.

I'm skeptical that a certain dream object or action has a specific waking-world meaning, recurring dreams or not. How could we know that? Someone makes a claim on day that dreaming about a grasshopper eating an ice cream cone means that there will be a plague of locusts on an ice cream shoppe, and it becomes canon and repeated as gospel by people learning rote 'meanings' from 'dream interpretation' books and/or websites. Most imagery means nothing at all, or it has obvious psychological or literal symbolic meaning. I'm always baffled when some adolescent asks what having dreams about her secret crush kissing her means--the meaning is obvious, and there's little point in asking about it. Nor do dreams come from any outside agency like demons or gods, nor do dreams psychically foretell the future--there is nothing paranormal about either dreams or dream content.

The first part of the dream might mean you are caring too much about your own life and not enough about the lives of others.

You are in some mid point between one destination and another and you are running from the wisdom that you need.

You are relying on your understanding to contact God but you can't reach him because of the material desires you have cultivated throughout your life

You get a preview of your future and you see something crash and then change and conflicting with others.

Everybody was leaving the city because of nuclear missiles coming down. This is when the rapture of the church will happen. All those who follow the teachings of Jesus will be removed from earth. There will be economic problems where cities will have major riots because gov't can't pay welfare checks. There will be tsunamis before then, which will cause chaos and much death. Do you know Jesus as your savior? He is the only hope.

You are not alone. Go to YouTube and type "dream and of world" and there are over 1,000,000 videos posted where people from all sorts of backgrounds are sharing terrifying end time dreams.

Also, there are over 200,000 dreams shared about "Jesus is Coming" to "Dream Rapture", and another 200,000 dreams shared about "Left Behind" typing to the end of the world.

In Joel 2 God said in the Bible that in the last days he would pour out his spirit on people and all sorts of people, not just Jews and Christians, would have dreams and visions.

Your dream also very accurately portrays the "sudden" change. Jesus said in Matthew 24 that people would be marrying and feasting, and have no idea about the great disaster that was about to happen. He said at it was in the days of Noah, so it will be again when the Son of Man comes back. Everybody goes about their live and it all looks sunny and fine, until suddenly the flood came and swept them all away.

There are many passages in the Bible that describe how this will happen, including this one in Isaiah:

Wail, for the day of the Lord is near;

it will come like destruction from the Almighty.[a]

7 Because of this, all hands will go limp,

every heart will melt with fear.

8 Terror will seize them,

pain and anguish will grip them;

they will writhe like a woman in labor.

They will look aghast at each other,

their faces aflame.

9 See, the day of the Lord is coming

—a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—

and destroy the sinners within it.

The massive volume of people that are having these Bible correlating dreams is astonishing.

My recommendation to you is this: whatever you do get right with God through Jesus Christ.

You are either one of HIS children redeemed by the blood of Jesus, or you are in this world with your sins attached to you. This passage above shows what will happen to them.

How to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord?

It is the easiest thing in the world. Just close your eyes, focus on him and pray something like this:

"Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins and I ask you to wash me clean. I am sorry for all the bad things I have done and the many times I broke God's Will. Please forgive me and fill me with the gift of the Holy Spirit. I want to belong to God. I want to be adopted into his family as his child. Come into my heart. I give you control over my life. Please lead me through the Holy Spirit and make your Word real to me. Fill my soul with the peace that surpasses understanding and help me change so that I may lead a life that is pleasing to you. I want to go to heaven and I want to be called by the Fathers name. As of today I declare that I belong to you". Amen
