What the best desktop/computer to buy for a fair price!?

I was looking at the I Mac and have several friend/relatives who have the iMac and seem to love it! Just want to make the right choice!

    choice is yours, if you just getting of for basic stuff like some office work school work and nothing fancy or gaming, get a mac (if you like it, i personally dont) but if you more stuff (choice, sometime u have more diffrent company making software for windows than mac, now days it's almost sameiessshhh) and gaming mac dont have many games windows...... but at the end it all comes to your choice see which one you want, look it research in youtube see what you like, and imac is not cheap when you are comparing to windows.... i have two macbook pro and lots of windows machine i like win more then mac just coz i can do stuff and get help when i need it.....but like i said choice is yours at the end

    DON'T BUY A MAC! It isn't as good as your friends/relatives are telling you it is.

    Sure the software is nicer than a Windows, but the windows functions much better. Also most software which can be downloaded won't work on a Mac. Windows is definitely the best choice! Get a windows 7, not a windows 8. Also, if you can, get one with 8 GB RAM and a 64 bit processor. Make sure it is quad-core. Also, after just buy a better graphics card! Hope This Helps!

    MACs seem to be very expensive compared with Windows based Desktops or Laptops. I don't believe there is any real advantage in MACs compared with Windows machines. It comes down to your budget and your personal choice.

    Well, I'd reccomend an ASUS laptop. They are cheap and come in many shapes, sizes, and functions. Macs are hard to download stuff on and are very laggy. Just my opinion.
