Will mounting 195/60 r15 tires on a car that has stock 205/55 r16 tires cause a significant difference in the odometer?
My current OE tires are 205/55 r16. I have a set of winters from an old car that are in great shape, but they are 195/60 r15. I know the diameters of the mounted tires aren't the best match, but I'm wondering if it's reasonable enough that the odometer won't be way off.

not that much BUT yes there is always a BUT, now you have the risk of not stopping on time and hit someone in front when making a hard braking, and even skidding out the road when making a hard turn since the tire you got are thinner. the load capacity of the tire is smaller than the one recommended by the car maker. going with a thinner tire is far worst then using wider tires.

205/55r16 will turn 810.68 revolutions per mile.
195/60r15 will turn 832.96 revolutions per mile.
Yes, switching these two tires will effect your speedometer accuracy.

Find out. Go on a road in your area that have mile markers. At sixty miles per hour you go one mile in one minute.
