Is it possible to fly directly from Australia to Israel?

If not, what route is most common? or how many stops are often made? I'm looking for cheap flights. Thank you for your help.

There is no direct flight to Europe, all flights have a refuelling stop - usually in Singapore or Dubai. Then, in this case, a stop in Europe to transfer to a flight for Israel. The cheapest are:

Swiss Air flies Sydney to Singapore; Singapore to Zurich; Zurich to Tel Aviv - total travel time 30 hours

Turkish Airlines flies Sydney to Singapore; Singspore to Ustanbul; Istanbul to Tel Aviv - total travel time around 26 hours

Compare flights and costs using http://www.webjet.com.au/ but book the flight directly with the airline.

It's not going to be cheap to get from Australia to Israel. At best, you'll get a cheap price comparative to what is normal, but nothing you'll get will be cheap over all.

As far as I can tell, there is no direct flight from Australia to Tel Aviv...at least, not one that I could find. It does seem like you can get away with one lay-over, and playing around quickly on El Al's website gave me nothing but one-stop layovers in other Southeast Pacific cities like Bangkok and Hong Kong. El Al, after all, is Israel's official carrier.

What I would do is inquire the Jews of Australia and find out what they do. If you can, I'd speak to those who work for synagogues or are in charge of many pilgrimages and trips to the nation. They'd know best about how to get the best fare possible, which route specifically is the most popular, and other questions you may have regarding travel to and in Israel.

There is no non-stop flight but you can fly with El Al via Hong Kong.
