Tire Size/Rim Question (1988 Toyota Cressida)?

So I'm attempting to find a used set of rims for my 1988 Cressida, but I am becoming quite confused by tire sizes. When the "O.E. Wheel Size" is 15x6 does that mean that the wheel is 15" across and 6" wide? Would going from a 15x6 to a 15x5.5 be a problem?

You have a bit of flexibility of what diameter rim size you use on your Cressida. The Cressida requires 205/60R15 sized tires which have a rim width mounting range of 5.5 to 7.5 inches. Ideally you would use either a 6.0, 6.5, or 7.0 inch width rim.

That's what it means and going to 5.5 is no problem at all. Just so you know during your search your bolt pattern is 4x4.5 the same as 89 - 93 Nissan 240sx, they fit perfectly as well.
