Wood turning lathe. I made a cone shaped thing about 4 inches across from fresh cut cherry. Next day it started to crack. What do i do ?

Do i need to lock the moisture inside with a sealer or paint or something ?

I dont want it to crack and i dont want to dry it for a year.

you need to either air dry or kiln dry your lumber

the fact that you don’t want to dry it doesn’t matter, it needs to be done

you cannot lock in the moisture with a top coat, as the moisture tries to escape it will lift the finish off

Cherry has a tendency to crack, and there is not much you can do about it.
