Yeah I think its true although im a girl but I know from my past and my friends experience with their partners. When u text or call too much u intimidate them and plus their excitement about chasing and discovering u will fade away quickly and they r gonna have the impression that ur clingy. After my last break up learned to cut the contact from time to time because guys want that even in a relationship.

Yes. Too much contact by the girl makes it seem like she's always checking up on him, to see if he's running around on her and not trusting him.
