N factor of H2SO4 in water? H2SO4 + H2O -> SO42- + H3O+ Or H2SO4 -> SO42- + 2H+?

    For titrations etc , where Normal solutions are used , H2SO4 is considered to be diprotic, therefore the N factor = 2

    H2SO4 ↔ 2H+ + SO4 2-

    or if you wish: H2SO4 + 2H2O ↔ 2H3O+ + SO4 2-
