Dew Claws should be removed VERY earlier on in puppy-hood. Removing Dew Claws as a dog becomes older becomes a major surgery and a major hassle. As far as Dew Claws go, the SOONER, the BETTER.
The average recommended age for a male dog to be neutered is **6 Months** of age, HOWEVER if you have a large or atheletic breed and are seeking to have a dog with muscle mass or larger stature, I would wait at least until the dog is 1 year of age, and until the animals "testosterone" has had enough influence on the dogs body to shape it physically.
Neutering TOO EARLY in large breed or athletic breeds with muscle mass or drive can be deterimental and damaging.

Dew claws should have been removed at between 2-3 days of age, as for neutering, that should be done around 6 months of age.

'Dew' not duke.
Check with the vet on the dew claws, but usually neutering is done by 6 months old.

Five months is a good age to do it. If you wait longer, the dog can start producing testosterone, and start associated behaviours like marking etc, which may persist after neutering.
