Will my tablet turn on after getting new charger after a year?

A year ago, my tablet's charger broke and I didn't get a new one. Now, about a year later, I have found a new charger and plan to buy it. My question is will it still turn on after a year being off or is it just dead now?

    If the battery hasn't corroded in it then it should work fine, but if I were you I would check the battery for corrosion before plugging it in.
