Do I NEED to feed puppy food?

I think you're confused with what quality means. Quality just means that the chicken listed in the ingredients is actually CHICKEN MEAT and not like...chicken feathers or anything like that. It has nothing to do with the amount of ingredients. Sure, those ingredients might be super good quality, but it's to feed an adult dog...not a puppy. Puppies need more fat than an adult dog. Adult dog diets are for MAINTAINING their weight and health. A puppy diet is to make them gain fat, muscle, and to help their bones develop properly. Feeding a puppy an adult diet could possibly stunt its growth. Not to mention that veterinarians don't usually recommend feeding puppies with adult diets...so... that's pretty much self explanatory. Again, yes, the ingredients may be very good quality, but the recipes made are for MAINTAINING the adult dog's weight, so the amount of ingredients in the food is less than that of a puppy's. Because puppies are growing. Adult dogs are not.

Do you need to? No. High quality food is fine for puppies. I choose to feed my puppies puppy food for the first year, though. I have a medium sized breed, and fast growth is not a problem in my breed like it is with the giant breeds. I want them to have every benefit possible in their developmental stage, so I feed them puppy food. It is not necessary, though.

If you mean, Do i need to feed a puppy 'Puppy food' Then it really depends on if the puppy food you have is sutible to the breed/ age of the puppy.

If your not too sure what food to give them, have a look at the supermarket in the puppy food section at what the suggested age and amounts for their food is.

No you can feed the pup with regular adult food.
