Why did God say at Jeremiah 7:31 burning kids in fire was " something that He had not commanded and that had never even come into my heart"?

Perhaps God was forgetful and it slipped his mind that he had already commanded Abraham to burn his son on an altar.

And maybe his forgetfulness was toward the future of that time as well, since he would sacrifice his only son to himself.

Then also he forgot that Jesus would say "If you deny me before men, then I will deny you before the father", which caused MANY of his people to sacrifice themselves and their children for him rather than risk Hell. God is a senile old man.

Jeremiah did not say anything worthwhile for us. Instead read the teaching of Jesus recorded only in 4 books of the Bible - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The teaching of Jesus is simple. Love humankind and do good to the needy persons you come across in life. You are assured of eternal life in God's kingdom (heaven).
