Don't you think pensioners have paid enough?
tax and insurance to be picked up of the floor when they fall...a council in Essex expects them now to pay £26.00 on top of what they already pay to send somebody out to pick them up...talk about uncaring it is absolutely outrageous when they send millions or is it billions now to foreign countries ..and give money to anybody who needs it but their own people...

the government would rather help foreigners than indigenous people, old or young.
sad but true.
billions in foreign aid go to countries like india, pakistan, etc & our government is letting in 20,000+ "syrians" ( on top of the hundreds of thousands of other immigrants we receive each year ). the refugees who have never paid 1p to this government (and an unknown number are likely to be isis sleeper cells) will get housed and given handouts, the elderly will be left to rot. gov't doesn't care that they paid 40-50 yrs in tax or NI and in some cases fought for this country, its not a trendy cause.

We can't assume every elderly person paid in when they were younger, I'm sure many didn't but I am happy and think it is safe to assume, that most did indeed contribute to the fund.
And that my dear is why if they cannot afford the charge or even just don't want to pay it they can call for help Freephone using 999. That's what they were paying for, council tax is used up month to month without needing a member of staff to visit you at home.
Practically it is too expensive to head down to someone's home simply to lift them off the floor, if you factor in the man hours and insurance cover costs for the employees, going 'round there for free isn't a sustainable model in 2016.
Now I do sympathise somewhat but ultimately the NHS will help them irrespective of whether this council proposal comes into effect or not.
So really it's not a big deal. I hope I've helped to alleviate some of your fears.
Good afternoon.

This is a very very SAD reflection on modern society. In the good ole days old people had their kids and grandkids, friends and neighbours dropping in all the time. Nowadays if an old person lies in his or her own pss for three days it's the "system's" fault for being uncaring. Never ours.
NO!!!!! NO!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!
You would abandon a child, would you? Well, an old person needs and deserves to be cared for too, you know!
