Have a flat screen, cable box and home theater. The dialogue is very out of step with the TV. I am not very techno but I try. Ideas?

Update:

I contacted the cable co and they resent the signal. It was better for awhile but then it went back to being out of sync.

Update 2:

Thanks for that reminder....Sony TV BRAVIA LCD Digital TV kdl-46v4100 and Home Theater Blue Ray bdv-e770w/t77.

It would have helped had you bothered to tell us the make and model of the TV and of your home theater system.

Without knowing those facts, all I can say is that the usual connection to send audio from the TV to a home theater audio system is with a digital optical audio cable running from the TV to the system. Then, you have to select that input on the system, and perhaps, change the audio setting on the system.
