I try not to let it totally ruin my day, or week... but I think a lot of us watch the game for a reason.
In some of our cases it may be all we have to go on.
I've been there... where it just sorta gets so under my skin that I start to even resent the commentators, who are usually 50/50 as they should be.
I don't think the other answerers are really hardcore NFL fans.

If you are taking a loss by your favorite team personally, then you have issues.
It is OK to be bummed out when your team loses. It is only a game. Life goes on.

The players don't really take it personally, why should fans who have nothing to do with the game take it personally?
