POLL: Has your health insurance premiums/deductible increased or decreased since Obamacare was enacted?

Mine went up by over 40% (thousands of dollars) and my deductible tripled. One year of health insurance cost as much as a semester in college with room and board. Most folks have to take loans out for that kind of expense...and it ends after four years. I had to drop it or consider closing my business. After that rate increase it was questionable as to whether it made since to remain self employed.

The following link shows the increases nation wide. For most people, the employers 'swallowed' the increase and passed along a small increase to the employees. For others, the increase was small, but the deductible doubled or tripled. My son's deductible alone is ten percent of his annual take home pay and when you consider the fact that the deductible is front loaded and he's a user of health care, times are lean for he and his wife in the new year.

The only places that the rates didn't increase were places like New York and California who already had heavily mandated health care. In these two states, the rates actually went down.

It has gone up. An it has gone up at a much slower rate under Obama. Under Bush from 2000 to 2008, my family's insurance premiums increased 6000%. Six Thousand Percent. Since the ACA was passed, my premiums have gone up about 15%. Interestingly, the year before the ACA was passed, they went up around 70% and my employer required us to pay more of that, I think in anticipation of the ACA rules for premium hikes.

Mine went up 7 bucks a month which is less than it went up last year. My health insurance has gone up every year since Reagan was first elected.

Mine went up a little, but much less than it was increasing before Obamacare. In fact, this year I was able to afford to give my employees a gold plan.

I belong to a union of 45,000 teachers (United Teachers Los Angeles) no change to my excellent plan. $10 office visit, $50 emergency room, no charge for surgery.

    Decreased by a substantial amount.
