Why do evangelicals keep saying only atheists support gay rights, when a Pew study shows a majority of American Christians now support it?

No Christian who rightly understands the truth of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ, and what He defines as sin (homosexuality is sin), supports or promotes homosexuality (or any other sin) as a righteous behavior.

Polls are meaningless and there are many false converts out there.

Because you're referring to facts.

Evangelicals are referring to something they think they heard a pastor say.

Why or how could or would an Evangelical be able to be truthful?

Their lives are based on fearful delusions.

And they have a natural, built in fear, of atheists.

Pew is a reliable survey. I trust them, Gallop, and CARA for polls of religion. Do read the survey and not just the news headline. Headline writers are sometimes idiots. The writers of the article have nothing to do with the headline.

People who call themselves christians may support it, but I don't think you'll ever convince God to change the Torah.

Regardless of any manmade study, GOD says that Christians cannot promote/encourage/facilitate ANY sin
