Genesis 6:1-8 forms the introduction to the story of the great Flood. It is in two sections, the first of which had no original connection with the Flood narrative. However, the author uses both sections to explain why God sent the deluge.

The first section Genesis 6:1-4 gives a brief summary of an ancient myth that relates how divine beings mated with human women and produced offspring.

In Hebrew thought, the human and the divine ought not to be confused, so these children violate the whole structure of the world. As punishment, God frustrates any attempt on humanity's part to attain divinity and immortality by declaring "my spirit shall not abide in mortals forever", and restricting their lifespan to 120 years.

The children are described as "mighty men of old", who appear in a later chapter as the embodiment of absolute power in the ancient world. But they are also described as "Nephilim", which probably means "fallen ones". This is one source of the myth of the fallen angels that plays a prominent part in such books as Enoch and Jubilees, works that stand outside the Bible and Apocrypha. Jewish thought came to see these angels, rather than the sin of Adam, as the source of sin in the world.

One of the New Testament writers' claims was that Jesus is a descendant of King David, and so has the right to be a king as would have been expected of the awaited legendary Messiah, and worthy of the title "Son of God". "Son of God" is a title applied to the real king of Israel: 2 Samuel 7:14, "I will be his (David's) father, and he shall be my son". There is also the story of Christ’s baptism that seems to back up the kingship claim when a dove appears above Jesus’ head, and a voice is heard saying “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17 and Luke 3:22).

Greek influence is throughout the New Testament. In the 1st century, Greek culture was influential in the Eastern Mediterranean. Perhaps the nativity story in Matthew's gospel was based on stories of Greek demi-gods like Heracles and Perseus, who were sons of Zeus by mortal women.

Do you understand the word begotten? That means Jesus was born of a woman.

The sons of God who married the daughters of men were angels that got together and agreed to leave heaven and materialize body's.

This resulted in children that grew to be 13 to 18 feet tall who were violent and really despised normal humans!

We all know the flood story and some people have this sick twisted idea god killed a bunch of cute little baby's. Which is far from the truth.

By the time earth's people realized that the nice handsome angels were satans demons that came down to create a race that would exterminate the punny 6 foot humans it was too late the kids were growing up into giants and more were on the way!.

By that time the wicked angels surely had all the people on all kinds of drugs and alcohol potions and the majority of earth was anything goes!

The giants made play things out of humans pulling off arms and legs eating people you name it.

Well that's the story hope it helped

  • All angels are sons of the true God. Job 2:1 Jesus in his pre human existence in heaven was God's only begotten Son, that means he was God's only direct creation as from then on, God used his Son as a master worker to bring everything else into existence.

The sons of God were from the lineage of Seth who claimed to be obedient to God. The daughters of Men were from the ungodly lineage of Cain. The children were not physical giants, but rebellious and wicked. This scenario is played out several times throughout scripture, where godly men are led astray by ungodly women.

They did not 'become' giants. Their OFFSPRING were giants.

The sons of God in Gen. 6 ... the ancient hebrew word used there.... likely means angel... possibly the fallen angels that Satan swept to earth... demonic forces that still roam here today.

Jesus is the only spiritually begotten Son of God uniquely one of a kind (and God the Son).

God has chosen to exist as three persons.

He entered into his creation through the agency of a human mother (her egg).... but not with the assistance of a human father. Her egg was fertilized by God himself.

This is a picture of God penetrating the heart of every believer with his seed, so that we become his offspring through adoption into sonship through faith in Jesus.

We are reborn of God's spirit.

The former things have passed away. We are new creatures; like the angels. Born of human parents and then reborn of the Holy Spirit. To the earth dwellers, we seem boring.. cool... aloof.... distant... bright.... and they really can't hear what we say when we talk. We are visitors to this planet.

Something similar was happening back then... only a dark version of it. This provoked God's anger. The thoughts of every human was evil all the time. That's why he drowned them... with the promise to never lose his temper like that again.

Regardless of who or what they were...

they were not *begotten* sons of God. That means: God was not their biological father. Either their biological fathers were humans, or they were creations of God - but they were not sons of God by begetting. Only Jesus was actually begotten by God.

LOTS of people - and also angels - are called "sons of God" in the Bible. However: only Jesus is described as a *begotten* son of God.

Jesus is the only one of God´s spirit sons to have been directly created by Him. All of the other God´s spirit sons were created by means of or through Jesus.

    Col 1:15

    New American Standard Bible

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

    Heb 1:2

    GOD'S WORD® Translation

In these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. God made his Son responsible for everything. His Son is the one THROUGH whom God made the universe.

    John 1:3

    New Living Translation

God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.

    Col 1:16

    New Living Translation

for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see--such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

So the sons of God who sinned, and rebelled against Him were angels who abandoned their lofty abode in heaven and came down to earth to marry the women and have children with them. The women, in turn, gave birth to a hybrid offspring, the Nephilim.

    Jude 1:6

    International Standard Version

He has also held in eternal chains those angels who did not keep their own position but abandoned their assigned place. They are held in deepest darkness for judgment on the great day.

    2 Peter 2:4

    Holman Christian Standard Bible

    For if God didn't spare the angels who sinned but threw them down into Tartarus and delivered them to be kept in chains of darkness until judgment;

    1 Peter 3:19-20

After being made alive, he(Jesus) went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— 20to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water.e:

Note: The angels didn´t become the Nephilim. The angels became their parents.

It's believed the male descendants of Seth (sons of God) married with the female descendants of Cain (daughters of man). Angels are incorporeal spirits they don't have natural bodies which would make it impossible for them to impregnate any woman also that would imply angels have genders which of course they don't because like I said they are incorporeal spirits.

The term "only begotten" used of Jesus comes from the Greek "monogenes", which means one of a kind or unique. While the term "son of God" can be used of angels or people, Jesus was God's Son in a unique, one-of-a-kind way. No other "sons of God" in the Bible have a term like "monogenes" associated with them.
