How do I stop binge eating chocolate and cake in 2016?

I am an overweight 23 year old male.

I have a problem with binge eating chocolate, cake, sweets etc. (anything nice). I don't need to go on a special diet I just need to stop the binging.

I know it's bad and I really need and want to stop. My new years resolution for 2015 was 'no more binge eating'. I have failed miserably!

The problem is I can't be strict with myself. Every time I do it I say to myself 'this is the last time'. After that I sometimes go as long as 1-2 weeks eating sensibly but I always slip into my old ways again because I am tempted and I love it so much.

I live with my mum and my sister so I can't control all the food that comes in and out of the house. Besides I often buy chocolate from the shop down the road.

I'm like an alcoholic I can't have just 1 biscuit a day because once I start I can't stop. I have to remove all surgery things from my diet altogether.

How can I be strict with myself in 2016?

Thank you.

The only thing that I can think of is maybe you might want to look at your mental and/or emotional health? Have you been feeling frustrated, depressed, hopeless, etc. lately? Maybe you eat a lot of junk food because it's your way of dealing with emotional and psychological problems. I've watched a lot of TV shows about obesity and I know for a fact that some people binge eat in order to deal with feelings such as depression and stress. It's normal to like certain foods, but if you frequently BINGE EAT your favorite foods there's a possibility that mental and emotional factors might be playing a role.

On your slice of cake, pour three tablespoons of water and eat it. On your chocolate, I don't know a solution, don't buy it. You'll save money and save on dental bills. The regular stores aren't selling really high quality chocolate. If you want it, buy 80 percent cacao, fair trade, organic, slave free meaning no child labor involved. Only make your own cakes, cookies or candy. Have one minute amount and give the rest to someone who has less than you. Make a vow and be true to it, as you only cheat yourself. If you simply must binge eat, have one lb of kale. Do research to learn why your food choices are a matter if manipulation.

Seriously plan to move out. Any place is good enough. Then you just dont buy it. You take healthy cooking lessons so you dont eat with your mommy anymore and get your life started. If you make sure you are the cook in the house, you are in charge of chocolate too

Chew gum. Sometimes just chewing something with negligible calories from it is all it takes. If you're able to handle it, chew a bit of gum for one hour and drop 11 calories. Remember to choose the sugar-free variety.
