The "Tea Parties" were an activist form of Conservatism. It takes a lot to move Conservatives to activism. Liberals do it at the drop of a hat. The anger and frustration that spawned the Tea Parties have moved back under the radar again. There are some organized lobbying groups that try to funnel the frustration. The popularity of Trump, Cruz and Carson is a visible result of the Tea Party frustration with past Republican politicians that forget why they were elected to Washington.

Can I Tea Bag you, phaggot?

It is the Tea Party, despite what YOUR racist president decides to call us.

How is "Black Lives Matter" working out for Tyshawn Lee, 9 year old Chicago child MURDERED by a rival gang against his father?

They're focusing on local and regional politics where, unfortunately, they've become pretty powerful by influencing the Republican primary process. It's part of the reason that the Republican candidates for President seem so insane this year--they know that to stand any chance of winning the nomination, they have to speak and pander directly to the Tea Party.

It's also why Congress can't actually govern anymore. Conservative Senators and Congressmen know that if they look even slightly liberal, or even willing to compromise, they'll be destroyed in their next primary.

They were repeatedly dunked in hot water in an attempt to break their spirit. They were systemically discarded after that.
