Brown dye over red?
I got my hair professionally dyed red in august ( so about 4 months ago) my roots are a couple inches long and the red has faded but its still noticeably there. If I use a boxed dark brown dye will it cover it or will it still be red tinted? Do I have to get it professionally done to cover it?

No it should be fine especially if you use permanent brown hair dye. If you want, try washing your hair with dandruff shampoo and/or baking soda, that might help a little more red rinse out. If your hair is thick or long get two boxes so you don't need to worry about it not covering
