Downloaded avast now problems. Can't end process or unistall,HELP!?
I realized I had avast protection so downloaded it & ran exe.setup file. Right away printer stopped communicating with PC. I can't end process, can't stop in Device manager or PC Processes, and can't uninstall because it is "open and in process". Box in corner of screen with Run exe.setup file is still there after a week. It says "Your avast internet security installation is in progress Do not turn off your computer. Several tickets later at Avast customer service and no response. Computer does not want to turn off either and afraid to force shut off. Advice?
If I force a quit/shutdown will problems be permanent?
I have it on Windows 7
I turned off pc, let it rest, and now it is installed on pc and won't come off! It decided to let printer print now. It ran a scan then said I have outdated software but did not say what and won't uninstall. ugh!

Freind I don't know what happened to you or were you got the installer but you can restart your computer in safemode and download the avast uninstall tool which is used to remove avast in case you download a corrupted install.
I do thousands of avast installs and 2 times had to use the tool in safemode.
But the very first thing avast does is create a system restore point shift button held down while restarting gets you to the recovery console in windows 10.
f8 does it in windows 7 while you restart!
Push the power button and turn it off then restart in repair mode and use system restore to go back 1 day!
Very easy!

Restart in safe mode, hit the F8 button repeatedly on startup. Then uninstall it.
You cannot uninstall software including your AV while it is running.
