Why do people mix race?
Alright, I have a question. I am not a White Nationalist, and I won't go protest race-mixing, but why do people do it? I mean, if you read that one question that was recently posted, the girl/boy states they have identity issues from being half Native American and half Euro. I searched it up, and surely enough, mixed people having 'identity issues' seems to be a real thing? If people are put through that much suffering, why do people race mix? Do they understand this person can grow up with mental health(depression, anxiety, etc.) issues because of it, and get bullied, and feel like they don't belong? I'm just wondering because I see people often fetishizing mixed people and girls saying 'Oh, I want mixed kids!' but yet mixed kids are basically trainwrecks. Nobody even took the person who asked the question seriously which I noticed, so isn't that another reason? Mixed people are told they 'don't have issues'?
So why do people race mix? I'm not saying don't do it but... I mean, is it really worth putting someone through that? I am European myself and I obviously I don't know what it feels like but after reading stories, being mixed sounds pretty damn shitty. What do you guys think?
Well, they can, and there is nothing wrong with it but why? I think it would be nice if the parents of the mixed child brought them up to love being mixed but I see it is often not the case! I'm not trying to be rude though. Sorry if I come off as that!
No, I'm not Scarlett. I didn't even answer the question, it just caught my eye. I do pity whoever the child is though...
True. It sounds dumb, but I never thought about it like that. It is society's fault, not the parents.
And I met one mixed person before. I do remember speaking of identity issues and I do recall them bringing up something about a crisis but I don't recall what they said as it was a while ago. I guess many mixed people have it different, depending on their environment!

I guess because some people don't think of it as 'mixing'. Really though, there is no scientific evidence that suggests there are 'pure' races, or that there ever were. Humans have been 'mixing' for a very very long time.
The fault is with our society. Our society that makes such a huge deal about something as simple as being multi-racial. Plus, there are many multiracial people who don't have identity issues and are very proud of their unique situation. I've met some who are even arrogant about it. lol.
I think a good amount of people who 'mix' aren't even thinking about it like that. They don't even have your mind frame. They're just with people they love. I do know some folks who purposely seek out different 'races' and I don't think anything good can come from such unions and that's where problems arise. Multiracial people raised by people who are concentrated on 'race' and not on the individual usually raise children who are too conscious of their 'racial' mixture than they are of themselves as individuals. Problems actually arise when people have your mind frame on 'race'. Ironic, is it not? :/

I live in a place that is 1/3 native. Race mixing is super common here, but, no-one cares. I live in Canada, and race really does not matter much at all to most of us. Being mixed race is no big deal at all. Like most Canadians, I like who I like regardless of race. Cute comes in all colours! We simply do not fuss over it, or worry about it.

Because they just do. And those kids who feel that way, I feel horrible for them. It bothers me as well. People need to take pride in their own heritage and keep their race existing by staying with their own race. To be depressed and have anxiety, teased and bullied for that is unfair. Their parents need to realize that finding each other and falling in love each other would be difficult for their children later on and what a burden it can be.

I agree. Races shouldn't mix. I am traumatized due to my appearance and will not be happy until I get a DNA test. I know I will be disappointed with the results.

Because they can. Not that hard to understand.
Why? Because they can, and/or they will. Seems like their is something about it that bothers you.
