I've decided to learn one piece and cannot find the meaning of one sign. The one that look like volta brackets, but below the notes.

    It's a pedal mark - it's probably just there for playback's sake - anyone with any sense would just have written 'con ped'

  • Mordent is probably correct, but confusingly, that playback doesn't have the notes down an octave.
