Is truth really relevant?

In Jed McKenna's Theory of Everything, Jed McKenna says, "...Truth is not really relevant. It has no practical value or realworld application. It doesn't change or improve anything. I may understand that consensus reality isn't true, or even probable, but here I am. Truth is outside of all paradigms, but we live inside them."

Do you agree? Why or why not?

    Relevant to WHAT?

Relevance isn't absolute, but relative to some issue or problem or question.

WHICH truth is relevant to WHAT?

Just saying "Truth is irrelevant" is meaningless, even silly.

No, I don't agree with all of that.

Fire will burn me. That is the truth, and understanding that truth will keep me from harm.

Thieves will steal my stuff and hurt me if I try to stop them, is another.

Not all truth is to be taken lightly.

On the other hand, non-universal truths can be freely ignored. What difference does it make to YOU that MY truth is Bananas Foster is the worst dessert in the whole world, followed closely by rhubarb pie.

Personal truths of other people only matter when love enters in. Then, even if they are nonsense, they must be respected at least in action.

Nope - A steel girder of a given size will bear precisely a certain load, no matter how many people chant or otherwise declare a different value. I'd prefer for the guy building the bridge across the river to "believe in" truth, wouldn't you?
