SR-22 on insurance?

the only reason I need an sr-22 is because I was caught without it in a traffic stop and learned that the consequences and expenses were NOT worth not having car insurance. I've had it for about 6 months now. SO my question is how long do I need it on my insurance for? I live in Chicago IL. Thank you for reading.

As long as you have/keep a drivers license and until you remain citation free after the time period for the SR-22 requirement is in Illinois. A couple of years ?

It might vary based on the exact situation, so you would have to check with the DMV.

    Total guess 2-3 years?
