I keep getting letters from the car dealership about selling my Hyundai Sonata to them. Is this legit?

I m wondering if they are just trying to get me back in to trade it in and buy another car.

No, it is not. It is how we get you in the door. Everyone in our system received a letter saying "We really want your xxxxx. We're paying top dollar, etc." there may or may not be a demand for your car, just a demand for your business.

They are advertisements sent out en masse. They don't give 2 flips about your trade. They make money when you buy a new car and they make a large profit from it.

Pretty much anyone who has ever went to a service department gets those letters.

Totally legal, and yes they want to see you a car. I get them for my 10 year old Accord. They say things like "People are looking for 2006 Honda Accords Coupes!". No, they aren't And it was a crappy dealer. I never heard another word form them the day I drove of he lot. No follow up, nothing. Great car, crappy dealer.

They're trying to drum up sales. Lots of dealers do this with their existing customers.

    Yes, it is legit.
