Higher dipole moment: Ch3Cl or Ch2cl2?

So ch3cl should've the higher moment but whys it so? Acc to the vector sum ch2cl2 has more vectors as compared to ch3cl. Secondly, two chlorines contribute to a higher electronegativity. But people say because of symmetry and no of halogens ch3cl has a huger dipole. Are the reasons correct? If not, what're the correct reasons?

You are wrong about the vectors. It is not just about the number of vectors but their overall sum. CH3Cl has a larger sum than CH2Cl2
