Cost to put fencing in?
Hi, i have done some calculations and worked out that my pasture fencing works out at costing me £935 to buy posts and wiring. But how much will it cost to hire someone to put in 170 posts that are each around 7 foot high? Thanks for your time :)
I wanna give u all like 500 points these are really great answers, thanks x

How long will it take on your land? Will they require mechanized digging equipment or will a simple post hole digger do the trick? Are you planning to hire a company (with a profit motivation on top of paying employees for their time) or some random person without a formal business or insurance?
Lots of questions. Figure out how long it will take to install 1 and move on to the next one, then multiple by the number of posts and you have the time. Once you have the number of hours, multiply by the rate you plan to pay.

Don't forget to get a survey, or find an old survey. Your town or county will probably charge for a permit. Usually they will need to come out and check the post placement before you put up the fencing.

That sounds like at least a 10 day job for one person @ $10 p/hr = Minimum of $800.

Depends on where you live...... local farmers, the local agricultural supplier as well as fence erectors will all give you a quote to do the work

Thanks!! I agree with you now. My land is 1 acre, and i need 255 metres of secure wiring, and then 170 posts, one post every 1.5 metres. Do you think i'd have to hire someone, could i diy it? And i am planning to hire probably a fairly small company.
