Hi there! I have roughly 1 and a quarter acres, perhaps 1 and a half. If I get a Jersey cow, what would be a good field mate? I don't want something that will be able to escape easily and that will be able to be kept in a barbed wire pasture like a goat, what would be a good animal to have?

I am thinking of getting an ikea detolf and using it for 2 dwarf hamsters and a syrian (half the cage for syrian, half cage for 2 dwarf hamsters) hamster with of course something to seperate them. My only concern is the door at the front? Will my hamsters be able to open the door?

Hey i was wondering how do you make your own hay? If you have long grass and no 'hay maker' how could you do it? Could you buy something similar to a 'hay maker' but cheaper? Any answers will be appreciated :)

Ok, so I am planning to get a jersey cow and her calf. They will have access to a nice, clean, warm shelter, long pasture, they will get alot of attention and I will ride the mother round as well ask taking them for 'mini walks'. The mother will be milked and the calf will be able to get half of her milk, we will get the other half. Is it ok to keep a jersey cow and her calf (who will grow to a normal cow-size but we might sell him/her) on about an acre of lovely long pasture? They will have access to lots of hay, especially in the winter. Also, can you tell me all about herd numbers and stuff like that? Thank you soooooo much :)

Hey again! I'm wondering, are dexter cows a good choice for a 'pet'? I would train them to: Be lead by a halter, be ridden (broken to ride), jump and,they would kinda be like my friend lol.I would also like to be able to put 1 dexter cow and 1 pygmy goat on about an acre of land, where they will live partly in the pasture to graze and partly indoors. They will have lots of attention and I would be taking them for regular 'walks' around my area. By the way i do not live in the city or town i live in a little village with an acre of pasture. Hi, i have done some calculations and worked out that my pasture fencing works out at costing me £935 to buy posts and wiring. But how much will it cost to hire someone to put in 170 posts that are each around 7 foot high? Thanks for your time :)
