A cow is a big heavy animal.

Anything you build has to be very sturdy.

You need to go to hardware store and buy a shed - with a wide door.

8 feet by 12 feet would be a minimum size for 1 cow.

And what if you get another cow ??

Cow are sensitive animal to the temperature ,that's why you can not rise the cows in any condition .Metal, specially steel are bad for the insulation ,they absorb both cold and hot temperature and it keep it for long ,which in fact is just good for cover from the rain .The shad materials for shelter should be high BTU materials ,fibers ,even palm lives shelters are better than he metals for the animal sheltering .

  • Seriously you need a secure frame and foundation for your shelter or you will just end up building a french fry cutter if you have a high wind. Then your sweet Jersey girl will look pretty rough.

We just have poles set in the ground, boards on those, then corrugated metal sheets attached to the boards.
