Areas classified as arctic climates have very long and cold winter s and short and cool summers. A lot of documentaries are shot over many months and even years, depending what they are covering.
Temperature max out about 10°C (50°F) to 5°C (41°F) in the summer, and Winters are -35°C (-31°F) to -40°C (-40°F). Temperatures below freezing are observed every month of the year. It also can snow any month of the year.
Global Warming has sparked interest in the arctic, arctic ice minimums and possible extinctions of animals. Polar Bear s\Harp Seal s\Arctic Fox\Reindeer.
Transportation is also a major factor with settlements that don t have direct paved road access to highways. If crews can use ice roads during the winter, it costs less than going there by airplane. Leading up to summer the road start to melt and are no longer safe for transport.
To sum it up, Everything in the arctic is build around the arctic.
