How can I prepare my 3rd grade boy for real life scenario in regards to mathematics?

My son will go to 4th grade this Feb. I want to polish his mathematics in holidays in regards to real life scenarios. Should I start with addition or subtraction word problems and then multiplication and division or is there any other strategy? Please guide me.

Update:

in case of word problems, please refer me any free resource for worksheets. Most of the website, I found are paid.

He should've done subtraction and addition word problems a long time ago. Most 4th graders have already mastered addition and subtraction word problems. It's second and third grade stuff.

Most real life scenarios will deal with addition and subtraction, so I'd go with word problems for those.
