What will happen in the Middle East once all the oil is consumed?

The middle east will become a sand dune once all the oil is consumed. What people dont realize is that there is not much oil available for $30 per barrel because it costs more to get it out of the ground. There is a stupendous amount of oil available if the price is $200, or $500, per barrel.

It will mostly go back to what it was. Deserts and semi-arid lands with few natural resources. Middle Eastern countries have saved little of their oil wealth nor diversified their economies. Their people have few job skills (unemployment is typically quite high and many people survive on stipends funded by oil exports). There's not much of a middle class.

Nobody will be interested in them. The only reason, and I mean the ONLY reason anybody has ever given a **** about the Middle East is because they have oil. That's it.

It will cease to be an important strategic region. Focus will shift to the South China Sea. If humans are still around after that it will shift again to the largest uranium nations, namely, Australia.
