Can someone that understands Japanese tell me if this snack is still good or not?

I bought it as a gift for one of my professors right before Christmas, however, I failed to see the date on the other side for December 29, 2015. TBH I don t remember was the snack/candy was, so I want someone to tell me if it really is expired by now or if it s really still good. Here are the pics:

    It's expired, I'm afraid... You're right, it says 'December 29, 2015'.

    It's 生八つ橋(nama yatsuhashi) from Kyoto.

Nama yatsuhashi is: 'Raw, unbaked yatsuhashi (Nama yatsuhashi) has a soft, mochi-like texture and is often eaten wrapped around red bean paste (餡 an)' -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yatsuhashi

生八つ橋 doesn't last long (usually only around 10 days) because it's unbaked and has red bean paste filling inside. I checked the maker's (聖護院) website, and the date is 賞味期限(best-before date) not 消費期限(use-by date/expiry date), but it would not be a good idea to give it to your professor...
