My friend has the implnt and I'm slightly worried.?

So a freind if mine has the implant (you know the conception one) and is getting getting it replaced next week and says her doctor won't let her have local anaesthetic or painkillers while doing this (this is in England under the NHS) the website sy they should; is there anything that cn be done about this?

    She needs to see a different doctor or pop into a family planning clinic if that particular doc won't give her pain prevention. For a first time they can go without anesthetic but its very rare as it definitely does hurt. To have it removed/changed over it is an absolute must. I've had this particular procedure done three times over the years and she will need a local anesthetic as they need to dig around sometimes and it would be very painful without it.
