Online baby boutique?

So you have the finances to fly to China/Singapore and visit the factories and place a mass order for what you want?

If you want to have a viable online boutique, I'd suggest being a designer and making the items yourself. Buying from online 'wholesalers' is not a fantastic business tactic as the markup you will need to apply to cover the shipping and purchase costs from the 'wholesaler' to you is going to drive a large amount of your prospective client base away.

The people I know of who have successfully done the buy wholesale and sell in online boutique thing have ALL gone to the factory themselves before purchasing! The online 'wholesalers' have purchased from the factory and applied a hefty markup on the items themselves

To buy wholesale you need a sellers permit, probably a business license, capital to set up wholesale accounts and check tax laws in your area-if you have to charge and remit to the state. You do not need to be a designer, but you will have to prove you are a legit business to set up buyers accounts.
